Mother’s Day is upon us. A day in which we will try in some simple but sincere way to let our Mother’s know they are appreciated and loved.

Being a Godly Christian Mother is not easy nor is it popular in our world today. It requires more than giving birth to a Child. It also requires more than feeding, clothing and teaching a Child the proper way to behave.

A Godly Christian Mother has a deep growing commitment to God. Which is combined with a determination to teach and demonstrate Godly, Biblical principles to their Child. But the hardest part of being a Godly Christian Mother is Walking Away.

The Mother of Moses walked away. Exodus 2:3 states, “But when she could hide him no longer, she got a papyrus basket for him and coated it with tar and pitch. Then she placed the child in it and put it among the reeds along the bank of the Nile.” She had to walk away — she had to leave his future in the hands of God.

The Mother of Samuel walked away. I Samuel 1:28 shares. “So now I give him to the Lord. For his whole life he will be given over to the Lord.” And he worshiped the Lord there.” She had to walk away — she had to leave his future in the hands of God.

The Mother of Jesus walked away. John 19:26-27 states, “When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to her, “Woman, here is your son,” and to the disciple, “Here is your mother.” From that time on, this disciple took her into his home.” She had to walk away — she had to leave his future in the hands of God.

A Child is a precious gift and should be loved, provided for and most of all taught the ways and will of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. But no Child can be all that they can be until they are the hands of God. So may Mothers and Fathers, alike, be diligent in teaching their Children the things of God, but may the Children be laid at the feet of Jesus and caressed in His hands today and forever more.
