Walton Thomas Conn, Sr., 90, of Nashville, Tenn., passed away Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2020.

Mr. Conn was born Dec. 28, 1929, the son of the late Mary Porter and Edgar William Conn of Adairville. He was a graduate of Castle Heights Military Academy in Lebanon, Tenn., and received bachelor’s and law degrees from Vanderbilt University. He served in the United States Navy and was stationed in San Diego, Calif. He was retired from the Sunday School Board of the Southern Baptist Convention (now Lifeway Christian Resources) where he was a corporate attorney.

Mr. Conn married Bonnie Sue Eller of Easley/Pickens, S.C. in 1960. She survived him. Also surviving are two sons, Walt, Jr. (Alicia) of Auburn, Ala. and Joe Ed (Michelle) of Nashville, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Katie, Emily, and Caroline of Auburn, Ala., and Ethan of Nashville, Tenn., and his cousin and close friend, Lucy Moore Carroll of Nashville, Tenn.

Mr. Conn's family farm outside of Adairville, Ky. is designated as a Kentucky Historical Farm. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church for 53 years, where he served as a deacon and in a number of other capacities. At the time of his death, he was an honorary deacon. He loved history and was a member of a number of historical societies including the Sons of the American Revolution and the Kentucky Historical Society. He was an avid fan of Vanderbilt basketball, having been a season ticketholder since 1968.

The family would like to thank the caring and attentive nurses, therapists, and staff at Burton Court and Woodcrest at The Blakeford.

A private graveside service will take place in Adairville, Ky.
