Shirley Ann Minnicks Brawley, age 69, of Auburn, Ky., passed away Sunday, Nov. 3, 2019, at her home.

She was born in Logan County, Ky. on June 17, 1950, to the late John Henry and Emma Lee (White) McFarland and her father the late Fred Hayes.

She was a member of Pierce Memorial Methodist Church and attended New Life Baptist Church. Shirley worked as a supervisor with the Auburn Hosiery Mill and a cashier with Dollar Tree in Bowling Green.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Russell Minnicks; her second husband, Robert Gordon Brawley, and two sisters, Emma Jean Carroll and Rosa Lee Reese.

She is survived by her son, Tony Wayne Minnicks (Shelia) of Bowling Green; her daughter, Sonia Lynn Hutcheson (David) of Auburn; her very special sister, Mary Elsie Smith (Bud) of Auburn; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and her two dogs, Princess and Romeo.

Funeral services for Shirley Brawley will be conducted Thursday, Nov. 7 at 2 p.m. in the Young Funeral Home Auburn Chapel with Bro. Tony Brown officiating. Burial followed in the Auburn Cemetery. Visitation will begin at the funeral home Wednesday, Nov. 6 from 5-8 p.m. and Thursday from 8 a.m. until funeral time at 2 p.m.

Pallbearers are David Hutcheson, Tony Minnicks, Mark Summers, Danny Hayes, Tony Minnicks, Jr., and Mike Smith.

The family asks that donations be made to Hospice or to the Shriners Hospital. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
