Rayford Scales, age 74, of Russellville, Ky., passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2020, at his home.

He was born in Antioch, Tenn. on Sept. 8, 1945, to the late Elton Paul and Floraine (Martin) Scales.

Rayford was a member of the Adairville Baptist Church and was a farmer.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Diane Scales; two sons, Adam Scales (Becky) and Sam Scales (Jennifer) both of Russellville, Ky.; two brothers, Larry Scales of Auburn, Ky. and Eric Scales (Sonja) of Franklin, Tenn.; a sister, Phyllis Sanford (Kenneth) of Nolensville, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Christopher Scales, Katelyn Allen, Hilary Kessler and Matthew Scales, and three great-grandchildren, McCuddy, Stella and Robertson.

Funeral services for Rayford Scales will be conducted Sunday, June 28 at   2 p.m. in the Young Funeral Home Russellville Chapel with Bro. Michael Edwards, Mickey McGuire and Christopher Scales officiating. Burial will follow in the Fuqua-Beauchamp Cemetery located on their farm (5294 Nashville Road, Russellville, Ky. Visitation will begin Friday, June 27 from 5-8 p.m. at the Nolensville First Baptist Church in Nolensville, Tenn., Saturday, June 27 from 5-8 p.m. in the Young Funeral Home Russellville Chapel and Sunday, June 28 from 12 p.m. until funeral time at 2 p.m.

Pallbearers are Eric Scales, Larry Scales, Christopher Scales, Matthew Scales, Sam Kessler, and Stephen Allen.

The family asks that donations be made to the Adairville Baptist Church. Envelopes will be available at the church and funeral home.
