Pittman Spears, age 79, of Smyrna, Tenn., formerly of Russellville, passed away Friday, Oct. 25, 2019, at the Hopkins Center in Woodburn, Ky.

He was born in Clarksville, Tenn. on Aug. 23, 1940, to the late Sidney Spears and Margaret Blanks Spears.

He was a retired sergeant first class with the United States Army. He was a graduate of Russellville High school, graduated from the Carlisle Military school in 1958, was a drummer and trumpet player for the Dominos band, volunteered for Camp Samaritan in Murfreesboro where he helped homeless veterans and was an avid UT Vols fan and Tennessee Titans fan, and an avid Nascar fan.

He is survived by his daughter, Staci DeArmond of Russellville, Ky.

Graveside services for Pittman Spears will be conducted Tuesday, Oct. 29 at 1 p.m. at Maple Grove Cemetery with Andy Macrector officiating. Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home are in charge of the arrangements.
