Mattie Stamper Duncan passed away Saturday, June 29, 2019, at Greenview Regional Hospital in Bowling Green surrounded by her family.

She was born October 22, 1935, to Clayton and Bessie Stamper in Campton, Ky.

She graduated from Bowling Green High School and Western Kentucky University with a Home Economics Degree.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Wilfred H. (Buddy) Duncan, Jr. They resided in Russellville, Ky. and were members of First Baptist Church.

She is survived by her children, David C. Duncan and Valorie of Bowling Green, Ky., Debra Duncan Rowe and Louis of Hebron, Ky; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Anne Cannon of Bowling Green, Ky.; sisters-in-law, Joyce Stamper of Louisville, Ky. and Evalyn Dorn of Greensboro, N.C., and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mattie Stamper Duncan will be conducted Friday, July 5 at 1 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 6th and Main Streets with Bro. Joe Ball officiating. Burial will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will begin at the church Friday, July 5 from 10 a.m. until time of the service at 1 p.m. Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church or the Children’s Tumor Foundation.org to honor Nora Lee Rowe. Envelopes will be available at the church.
