Both local teams got a win over the weekend on football fields away from home. The Panthers traveled to Fulton County on Friday. The Cougars had a noon game at Hopkins County Central on Saturday.

Russellville had a hard fight at Fulton County on Friday. By the time the smoke cleared, it was a 21-20 win for the Panthers. Jovari Gamble had 20 touches and 129 yards on the ground. Lennon Ries had a rushing touchdown. Ries also threw a touchdown pass to Josh Allen, who had 47 yards through the air. Xavier Coleman had two picks in the game, including one for a score.

The Panthers will host Todd County on Friday.

Logan County beat Hopkins County Central 42-16 on Saturday. The win secures the No.1 seed in the district for the Cougars.

Davin Yates threw well for the Cougars, collecting 117 yards and passing for a touchdown. Ryan Rayno caught the touchdown pass for 47 yards.

Rayno also led the Cougars on the ground with 79 yards and three touchdowns. Davin yates also scored and ran for 54 yards.

Logan County will host Warren East this Friday.
