The Russellville Lady Panthers will host the Cocoa Collier Classic this weekend. The event is being held to honor the late middle school basketball coach who was adored by so many in the community.

The Russellville Lady Panthers will host the Cocoa Collier Classic this weekend. The event is being held to honor the late middle school basketball coach who was adored by so many in the community.

The Lady Panthers hosted the Inaugural Cocoa Collier Classic Saturday at Russellville High School. The tournament is named for Ashley "Cocoa" Kees Collier who passed in April. Cocoa was the Russellville Middle School Lady Panthers basketball coach as well as a vital member of our community.

The tournament featured ten teams, all playing Saturday. Russellville played West Creek (TN) at 6 pm.

The Lady Panthers (8-3) beat Heart for Christ out of Louisville on Saturday by a score of 65-29. Anastasia Dowlen had 18 points and 20 rebounds in the game. A'miyah Collier scored 13. Chloe Whitescarver finished with 12 points in the win.

The Panthers beat Beth Haven 74-69 on Friday. They fell to Carlisle County 59-49 in the Roys Bar-B-Que/1st Southern National Bank Classic.

The Panthers (4-4) and Lady Panthers (8-3) will hosted Franklin-Simpson in district play.
