The second round of the Class 1A playoffs is tonight. Russellville defeated Fulton County last week to earn a trip to Crittenden County for the second time this season. The winner moves on, the loser prepares for next season.

The first time these two teams met this year was back on October 25th in Marion Kentucky. The Panthers played the Rockets close, but fell 21-14. Crittenden County has a record of (9-2.) Russellville has won four out of the last five games. The lone loss was the one suffered to the Rockets.

Coach Mikie Benton's Panthers have turned a corner during the second half of the season. The opening half featured games against much larger schools like Warren East, Franklin, and Logan County. The second part of the schedule put the Panthers up against the smaller schools in Class 1A.

Quarterback Lennon Ries has been under center for the duration of the season with his numbers improving as he gains experience. Ries now has 13 passing touchdowns on the season. He has also run for 556 yards and five touchdowns.

Jovari Gamble is the leading rusher with 683 yards. Jackson Hampton has caught 14 passes, with seven of those being touchdowns.

Crittenden County's quarterback has 804 yards passing with 11 touchdowns this season. Most of the work stays on the ground for the Rockets. Xander Tabor has 1338 yards and 12 rushing touchdowns this year. Tabor piled up 218 yards against Russellville the first time around but did not reach the endzone.

The game kicks off at 7:30 in Marion Kentucky.
