The 2019-2020 Russellville Panthers start the season with a perfect (2-0) record under new Head Coach Carlos Quarles.

The Russellville Panthers have a new coach this season. Coach Carlos Quarles has his boys off to a (2-0) start early this season. The Panthers beat Greenbrier TN 57-45 to open the season. On Saturday, they picked up another win, 56-54 over Adair County.

The Panthers have only two Seniors on the roster this season. The team lost some key players last season. Four Seniors played great seasons in the 2018-2019 year. There is still plenty of experience left on the Russellville court. There are six Juniors playing this season.

Coach Quarles has coached for a total of 15 years. He spent ten years coaching at Warren Central prior to coming to Russellville. This is his first head coaching job.

"I'm excited about where we can go as a team," he said.

"We have the potential to be a good basketball team. I like the energy and effort that my young men have displayed in the first two games."

Coach Q, as he is called by his players, also hopes to continue to improve offensively and defensively.

"The goal is to be a more efficient basketball team."

The Panthers started the previous season with four losses. They finished (8-17) in 2018-2019.

Russellville will play at East Robertson in Cross Plains Tennessee on Thursday. The next home game will be December 17th against Butler County.
