Junior Josh Allen catches a touchdown pass at Warren Central on Friday. The Panthers won 27-20.

Class A Russellville closed out the regular season with a win over a Class 4A school on Friday. The Panthers won 27-20 on a cold night at Warren Central.

Russellville took the field looking flat on Friday night according to Coach Mikie Benton. Warren Central struck first and completed a two-point conversion to lead 8-0 with eight minutes left in the first. Lennon Ries scored on a 3-yard run play two minutes later, but the Dragons took over after that touchdown.

At the end of the first quarter, Warren Central led 20-6. The Panthers woke up to start the 2nd quarter with a 31-yard passing score to Josh Allen to make it 20-12. Xavier Coleman scored the next touchdown on a rush. Ries ran it in for a successful 2-point conversion to tie the game at 20.

The Panthers took the lead with a Chevis Elliott rushing touchdown just before halftime. Dustin Brown tacked on the extra point for a 27-20 Panthers lead. Neither team would score in the second half. The game would end with a 27-20 victory for Russellville.

Lennon Ries completed six passes for 100 yards and one touchdown on Friday. Ries also ran for 90 yards and a score.

Chevis Elliott ran the ball well and collected 122 yards and a touchdown.

The Panthers will host a playoff game against Fulton County on Friday at Rhea Stadium. The two teams met on October 4th resulting in a Russellville win, 34-31.
