The 2020 regular season has come to a close for high school football. Both the Cougars and Panthers will get a chance to play on as the playoffs will start in the coming weeks.

The Panthers hosted the Todd County Central Rebels on Friday night. Russellville got the big win, 33-0. Jovari Gamble had a big night on the ground for the Panthers. Gamble had 133 yards rushing with two touchdowns. Chevis Elliott also had a score as a runner and added 86 yards.

Jaquis Todd had three receptions on the night for 98 yards. Two of those catches were good for touchdowns. Jackson Hampton collected 70 yards through the air. Quarterback Lennon Ries threw for 161 yards and two scores in the game.

Russellville (5-3) will host a playoff game at Rhea Stadium in round 1.

Logan County hosted Warren East on Friday. The Raiders won the game 39-28.

Davin Yates threw for 134 yards and two touchdowns in the game. The Warren East defense had five picks on the night. Jaden Sells, Wyatt Blake, Rooster Woodard, and Maurice Gordon each had receptions for the Cougars. Woodard caught two for scores.

Wyatt Blake continues to impress with his ground game. Blake had 153 yards on Friday. Davin Yates ran for 73 yards and a score. Ryan Rayno also had a rushing touchdown.

The Cougars go into the playoffs with a record of (4-3.)
