All the baseball and softball games over the weekend were canceled due to the rain that started Thursday evening and didn't stop until Saturday afternoon. That included the annual Kelly Russell Classic at Russellville.

But all four local teams have plenty of games scheduled for this week as they begin their stretch runs for the last few weeks of the season.

The Logan County High School baseball team enters this week with the top record in the Fourth Region at 15-4. The Cougars are perfect in District 13 play and have amassed an impressive 10-1 record against Four Region opponents. The lone loss came against Glasgow in the first week of the season.

The Cougars were scheduled to step out of region with a game Monday at Madisonville-North Hopkins. Tonight they play again on the road against Todd County Central in a District 13 game. The last time these two foes met, Logan won easily 15-0.

LCHS then closes with week with a pair of home games against White House Heritage on Thursday and Barren County on Saturday.

The Russellville High School baseball team is currently at 2-8 on the season. They host District 13 foe Franklin-Simpson tonight. The Wildcats beat the Panthers 15-0 previously this season.

On the softball diamond, Logan County has an impressive 12-3 record and is a perfect 3-0 in district play.

The Lady Cougars were scheduled to play at Muhlenberg County on Monday and return to district play tonight at Todd Central. Logan beat the Lady Rebels 10-0 previously this season. LCHS closes out the week with a Thursday game at Hopkinsville and a home game Saturday versus Christian County.

The Russellville High School softball team has an impressive 12-4 record overall. They had a scheduled home game against Glasgow on Monday and are back in action tonight at home against Franklin-Simpson in a district match-up. RHS then plays at Barren County on Thursday and hosts Jo Byrns on Friday.
