Kennedy Nichols zeros in on the basket during the semifinal game in the 4th Region tournament on Monday. The Lady Cougars fell 71-41 to Barren County.

They knew it would be a tough battle at Diddle Arena on Monday, but the Lady Cougars of Logan County took the court and fought until the final buzzer marked the end of the basketball season.

Logan County (22-11) beat a good Metcalfe County (22-9) team last week to open the 4th Region tournament at WKU. That set up a date with the eventual Fourth Region champion Barren County (31-4.) The Trojanettes beat South Warren (17-13) in order to meet with the Lady Cougars in the semifinals. Barren County would have no trouble with Logan County, winning 71-41 on Monday. The Trojanettes then beat Bowling Green (26-8) in the championship on Tuesday.

In the final game of the season for the Lady Cougars, Paige Vanzant scored nine, Carlie Alvis had seven, Blayke Bingham and Sarah Beth Hale finished with six.
