Logan County's Abby Hinton bats against Todd County during the 13th District tournament on Monday. Hinton connected for the game-winning RBI hit against Franklin on Tuesday to give the Lady Cougars the district title for 2019.

Logan County clawed back out of a 4-0 hole in the fifth inning of the championship game on Tuesday and stunned Franklin, 5-4. The Lady Cougars won the championship for the first time since defeating Franklin-Simpson 5-4 in the 2016 district championship game at Todd County. The Lady Cats won the title in 2017 and 2018.

On Monday, Logan County entered into the district tournament as the number 1 seed and knocked out Todd County by a score of 11-1.

Sydney Lee had a home run to right field. Shelby Gettings hit a double. KJ Page slugged two doubles against the Lady Rebels.

Gettings tossed the complete game and had 11 strikeouts.

On Tuesday, the Lady Cougars took the field for the championship against Franklin-Simpson. The Lady Cats earned a trip to the title game after beating Russellville on Monday.

Franklin took the early lead after putting up single runs in the second and third innings. The Lady Cats added two more on a home run in the fifth and Lady Cougar fans started shifting in their seats.

Logan County got back-to-back singles from Emerson McKinnis and KJ Page to start the bottom of the fifth. Brea Croslin followed with a two-RBI double to left cutting the score in half. After the first out of the inning, Kennedy Nichols singled to right. Shelby Gettings then made the score 4-3 on a sacrifice fly, scoring Croslin.

Gettings struck out the side in the top of the 6th inning. The Lady Cougars also went down in order to close out the 6th.

Franklin was retired in the top of the seventh, giving the Lady Cougars one last chance at the title. Brea Croslin started off with a double. Kennedy Nichols tied the game with a double to center. Gettings was then walked. Lillie Newman was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Abby Hinton drove the first pitch to deep center and scored Kennedy Nichols for the win.

Logan County won the championship 5-4.

KJ Page had a triple against Franklin. Brea Croslin hit two doubles, while Kennedy Nichols added one more.

The Regional tournament will be held at WKU next week.
