High school soccer got back under way with week with all four local schools taking the field.

The Russellville High School boys was the only local team to pick up a win. The Panthers won 3-1 at Todd County Central in a district game.

Junior Avery Flener scored two of the Panthers goals, while junior Dustin Brown scored the other off a corner kick that curled into the net. Sophomore Dalton Gilbert picked up an assist on one of Flener’s goals.

The Panthers will be back on the field Tuesday at home against Franklin-Simpson.

The Logan County High School girls team opened at home on Tuesday and had to settle for a 3-3 draw with Christian County. All three of the Lady Cougars goals were scored unassisted by junior Kadyn Costello.

The Lady Cougars will be back in action on Tuesday at Todd County in their first district game of the season.

The Russellville High School girls team opened against district opponent Todd County Central on Tuesday. The Lady Panthers trailed 1-0 at halftime after giving up a first half penalty kick, and went on to lose 4-0.

The Lady Panthers are scheduled to play Glasgow at home on Saturday and Franklin-Simpson at home on Tuesday.

The Logan County boys played a pair of games this week. The Cougars lost 10-0 to Bowling Green on Monday and 7-0 to Franklin-Simpson on Tuesday.

They will be back in action on Tuesday at Todd County Central.
