This year, the 13th District tournament is being played at Russellville High School. On Monday night, both No. 1 seeds played and won. The Cougars and Lady Cougars came into the tournament with undefeated district records. Each team won easily to move onto the title games.

The Lady Cougars kicked off the tournament with a win over Todd County. They led 22-8 after the first quarter and never looked back. The final was 65-39.

Paige Vanzant led the way with 19 points. Kennedy Nichols scored 13. Addie White hit for 12 points on the evening. Peyton Vanzant added 11 in the win.

The Lady Cougars advanced to the district final on Thursday night against Russellville.

In the second game on Monday, the Cougars kept the winning streak alive at number 22 by beating Russellville 71-21. Jose Nazario scored 23 in the win. The Cougars will play Franklin-Simpson tonight at 7 pm for the district title.

On Tuesday, the Lady Panthers knocked off Franklin-Simpson to earn a trip to Diddle Arena and a shot at the district championship on Thursday. The final was 44-35.

Anastasia Dowlen scored 11 against the Lady Cats. Chloe Whitescarver had ten points in the win. A’miyah Collier finished with nine, and Macaria Hines had eight.
