The Logan County High School baseball team lost a heartbreaker to District 13 rival Franklin-Simpson this week.

The Cougars and Wildcats were tied 2-2 heading into the 10th inning when Franklin got a walk-off single to end the hotly contested game.

Braxton Meguiar led Logan County at the plate by going 2-for-3.

Logan County is now 15-7 on the year overall and is tied with Franklin-Simpson for the top seed in the district tournament. The Cougars beat Franklin 4-2 at home earlier in the season.

The Cougars have just one regular season district game left - on Tuesday, May 8 at home against Todd County Central. The next game up for Logan County will be tonight at home against Glasgow. The Cougars host Calloway County on Saturday and play at Hopkinsville on Monday.

The Russellville High School baseball team dropped a 5-2 decision on Tuesday at home to Todd Central. The Panthers are now 0-5 in the district and will be the No. 4 seed in that tournament later this month.

The Panthers (2-12 overall) will be back in action today at home against Butler County and will host Whitesville Trinity on Monday.
