The 2018-2019 regular-season came to a close on Friday night at Logan County High School. The Cougars celebrated Senior Night with a doubleheader win over visiting Cumberland County. The Lady Cougars won 73-30. The boys beat Cumberland 82-62.

Senior Brittany Garrett led the Lady Cougars in scoring with 14. Sarah Beth Hale had 13. Kennedy Nichols and Addie White collected 11 points on the evening.

The ladies finish the regular-season with a record of (19-10) while also earning the top seed in the district tournament.

Kelby Epley poured the points on against Cumberland County on Friday. Epley scored 31 in the win. He was 6-for-6 from the free throw line. The Senior also nailed five 3-pointers and five field goals.

Rooster Woodard also put on a show. Woodard scored 13, including a dunk that got the home crowd fired up on Senior Night.

Dalton Thompson scored ten. Tommy Krohn had nine points on the evening.

The Cougars post a (22-6) record to wrap up regular-season play. They march into the 13th District tournament along with the Lady Cougars as #1 seed.

The District tournament started on Monday after the NDL press deadline. Logan County played the host teams, Todd County, in both boys and girls action. We will have the results in the Friday edition of the newspaper.

Russellville's teams will play tonight in Elkton. Both the Panthers and Lady Panthers play Franklin-Simpson.
