Logan County's Emerson McKinnis and Russellville's Jae'da Poindexter battle for a rebound during the first-ever middle school basketball Clash of the Cats on Monday.

The very first-ever middle school 'Clash of the Cats' took place on the basketball court at Logan County High School Monday evening. The newly formed Logan County Middle School teams hosted the RMS Panthers for a boys/girls doubleheader.

The Logan County Middle School Lady Cougars are coached by Brent Hinton and Kristen Rodgers. The boys are coached by Drew Teel and Jerry Epley.

The ladies took the court first. The final score of that game was 36-13 in favor of Logan County. Nora Epley led all scorers with 14 points. Emily Borders had seven, while Emerson McKinnis and Sydni Blick each scored six.

Russellville got four points from Hannah Cheaney.

The Russellville boys defeated the Cougars 44-39. Logan County got 11 points from Colby Collins, eight points from Hayden Strader, and seven from Jack Delaney.
