Auburn Police officer BJ Ferguson took two individuals into custody recently who are suspected of theft and illegal drug possession.

On Saturday, June 1 officer Ferguson was investigating an incident of someone driving off without paying for gas at Casey's General Store in Auburn when he observed the suspected vehicle pulling out of the parking lot of the business.

Officer Ferguson stopped the vehicle which was being driven by Amy Gibson, 39, of Auburn. Her passenger was Ventrial Hines, 43, of Russellville.

The Logan County Emergency Communications Center confirmed that Hines was wanted on outstanding warrants out of Warren County. He was also found to be in possession of a bottle containing suspected methamphetamine.

Gibson was also found to be in possession of a bottle of suspected methamphetamine and marijuana in her purse. She was operating a vehicle on a suspended drivers license.

Both Gibson and Hines were placed under arrest and lodged in the Logan County Detention Center.

Gibson is being charged with TBUT Gasoline U/$500, operating on a suspended license, failure owner to maintain insurance, expired registration plates, possession of a controlled substance first degree (methamphetamine), possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and tampering with physical evidence.

Hines is being charged with two warrants for unrelated charges (Warren County), possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
