A Tennessee man was taken to the hospital after he lost control of the motorcycle he was driving earlier this week in south Logan County.

On Monday, July 27, 2020, at approximately 1:37 p.m., the Logan County Sheriff’s Department received a call of a single-vehicle collision near 10496 Orndorff Mill Road.

According to a police report, when deputies arrived on the scene, they found 59-year-old Billy M. Nixon of Cottontown, Tenn. Nixon was traveling south on Logan Mill Road, near Orndorff Mill Road, before his accident. He lost control of his 2004 black Harley Davidson motorcycle after topping a hill and was unable to maneuver around a curve before laying the bike over on the right side and sliding off the road into the grass.

Nixon sustained obvious injuries to his right side and was treated on the scene by Logan County EMS before being transported by ambulance to NorthCrest Medical Center in Springfield, Tenn.

The Logan County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the accident and was assisted on the scene by the Adairville Rural Fire Department and Logan County EMS.
