On Sunday, Sept. 13, at 7:29 p.m., the Russellville Police Department received a tip of a subject with an active arrest warrant at 423 W 9th St.

Upon arrival, officers located a 2013 Chevrolet Sonic vehicle, orange in color, with several subjects inside. During the investigation, it was determined that the operator of the vehicle, Luke Minton, and the female passenger had active arrest warrants.

When the subjects were advised to exit the vehicle, the operator placed the vehicle in reverse almost striking a police officer on the scene. Officers pursued the vehicle on Orndorff Mill Road and terminated the pursuit shortly after.

The Logan County Sheriff’s Department located the vehicle wrecked on Dot Road near the intersection of Orndorff Mill Road. The sheriff’s deputies located Minton and the female passenger near the accident.

Both subjects were given medical attention by first responders. The Logan County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the vehicle accident.

The Russellville Police Department will be pursuing charges against Minton for first degree wanton endangerment of a police officer, first degree fleeing or evading in a motor vehicle, possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, reckless driving, disregarding a stop sign and operating a vehicle with and expired operators license.
