Staff report

A Hopkinsville man was arrested Friday night after leading police on a chase through both Russellville and Auburn.

On May 31 at 8:08 p.m. Captain Clint Wright of the Logan County Sheriff's Office saw a 2019 Dodge Ram pickup travelling 105 miles per hour in a 65-mph zone on US 68/80 West.

When Wright attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver, 20-year-old Dekorian Daniel of Hopkinsville, flew toward Russellville.

The pursuit continued onto the by-pass and through the city limits of Russellville before making it to 68/80 East.

Daniel continued for another 10 miles through Auburn before eventually pulling over near Champion Petfoods. At that time, he was taken into custody without further incident, according to a police report.

He was taken to the Logan County Detention Center and charged with speeding 26 mph or greater, reckless driving, first degree fleeing or evading police, seven counts of wanton endangerment first degree and disregarding a traffic control device.

Daniel was given a bond of $5,000.

Wright was assisted by Deputy Jakop Smith, the Russellville Police Department, Auburn Police Department and the Kentucky State Police.
