The much-anticipated Clash of the Cats was played on Tuesday at Russellville. The game was as exciting as promised. A'miyah Collier and Shelby Gettings were locked in a pitcher's duel throughout the seven-inning game. In the end, Gettings and the Lady Cougars won, 3-1.

Logan County (9-2) stepped to the plate first against Collier and the Lady Panthers. Two errors and a single led to KJ Page crossing the plate for the first run of the game. The Lady Cougars took the early 1-0 lead.

Both pitchers settled in and the strikeouts started piling up. Collier finished with 14 K's and Gettings recorded 11 strikeouts in the game.

The scoreboard would read 1-0 until the top of the 4th inning. Lillie Newman singled to start the inning. After two strikeouts and a walk, KJ Page singled in Newman to make it 2-0.

Russellville answered back in the bottom of the fifth. A'miyah Collier slugged a deep home run to center. The score after five innings was 2-1 in favor of the Lady Cougars.

In the top of the seventh inning, Kennedy Nichols strolled to the plate and popped a line drive home run to center. Nichols has three bombs on the season and leads the team with a .568 batting average.

The Clash would end at 3-1 and a victory for Logan County. The teams will meet again on April 30th.

Russellville (10-4) plays at Glasgow (3-6) tonight.

Logan County (9-2) will host a doubleheader against Jo Byrns (Cedar Hill) tonight.
