The E. Rhodes & Leona B. Carpenter Foundation was awarded the William H. Natcher Award by the Kentucky Library Association on Oct. 24, 2019, in recognition of their contributions and support to the Logan County Public Library.

The William H. Natcher Award is given to individuals, organizations, or corporations that have made significant philanthropic contributions to a Kentucky library. The contribution may be monetary, materials, or equipment. The Carpenter Foundation was nominated for the award by the Logan County Public Library for their years of support.

To date, the Carpenter Foundation has provided the Library with over $753,000 in funding. Such funding has helped the Library build a new facility in 2013 and recently, purchase updated technological equipment. The generosity of the Carpenter Foundation has greatly benefited and made lasting contributions to the library and community.

"The Carpenter Foundation has been extremely beneficial to our community over the years. It's great to see them acknowledged for all of their generosity to our library, as well as other worthy local organizations," said King Simpson, library director.
