Two people have been arrested and charged in the 2015 murder of Robert Wetton.

On May 22, the Logan County Sheriff's Department arrested 35-year-old Carolyn Jane Kinder of Bowling Green for conspiracy to commit murder and persistent felony offender.

Earl K. Johnson of Lewisburg has also been indicted on charges of conspiracy to traffic in a controlled substance, engaging in organized crime/criminal syndicate, murder, conspiracy to commit murder and persistent felony offender. Johnson is currently being held in Yavapai County, Ariz., on drug trafficking charges that are connected to the Wetton murder investigation.

The indictments in this case are part of a long term investigation into the murder. At this time, the investigation is ongoing and no further information is being released.

The murder of 65-year-old Robert Wetton occurred at his home on Ellis Road in Russellville. Wetton was found dead in his barn Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2015, by his wife Pamela Wetton. Very little information was released at the time of the incident.

In a separate incident, one month before Wetton was found dead at his home under suspicious circumstances, the couple was arrested in Arizona by the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Department and faced charges of transportation of dangerous drugs for sale, possession of dangerous drugs for sale, and possession of dangerous drugs and paraphernalia,

Authorities seized 20 pounds of methamphetamine during a traffic stop on the Wettons. The Wettons were pulled over for an equipment and moving violation on July 8, 2015, while traveling northbound near Cordes Lake, about 65 miles north of Phoenix, Ariz. During the stop, a K9 alerted on the trunk of the Wetton vehicle. When the deputy opened the trunk he found a red suitcase with 20 pounds of meth and a digital scale inside. An additional search revealed several “snort” tubes and glass pipes, as well as materials used to package drugs for sale.
