On Thursday, Nov. 19, an officer with the Russellville Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for an improper turn and suspicious activity.

A passenger in the vehicle, later identified as Phylecia Ford, 34, of Russellville, had made furtive movements and was behaving erratically.

During further investigation, units located a small pouch that was in the area that Ford had been sitting. Inside the pouch, cocaine and methamphetamine were located. It was determined that Ford had removed the pouch from her possession in an attempt to conceal evidence. Ford had also attempted to destroy a glass smoking pipe.

Ford was arrested and taken to Logan Memorial Hospital for medical clearance. While at LMH, Ford attempted to dispose of a black fabric pouch that contained paraphernalia and a small amount of marijuana.

Ford was taken to the Logan County Detention Center without further incident. She is being charged with possession of a controlled substance 1st degree, (methamphetamine); possession of a controlled substance 1st degree (cocaine); tampering with physical evidence (2 counts); possession of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia-buy/possess.
