A Russellville man was arrested Jan. 29 two days after fleeing from the Auburn Police Department.

Harold Kevin Flora, 44, was taken into custody and lodged in the Logan County Detention Center under charges of speeding 26 mph over limit, disregarding a stop sign, leaving the scene of an accident-failure to render aid or assistance, operating on a suspended license, driving on a DUI suspended license and reckless driving.

According to the Auburn Police Department, Flora fled from an officer when attempts were made to stop him after observing him driving 85 mph in a 55 mph zone on Bowling Green Road.

Flora accelerated to high rates of speed in attempts to outrun the officer traveling to Quarry Road, the old 68 Loop/East Main Street, and Irl Scott Road before finally losing control on Flat Rock Road striking a pole and then a parked vehicle in a yard.

According to the Auburn Police, Flora disregarded a stop sign while fleeing and drove into the other lane.

When Flora crashed, he exited the vehicle and ran on foot before officers were able to take him into custody. Through investigation, however, authorities were able to track Flora to his home and arrest him.

The Auburn Police Department was assisted by the Logan County and Simpson County Sheriff's Departments and the Kentucky State Police.
