A man was found hiding from police Wednesday in a refrigerator inside a camper at 65 Tamera Road, Adairville. Steven J. Ballard, 26, was arrested after being discovered, along with two others, John R. Bixby, 26, and Nicholas E. Haley, 28. The arrests were a result of an undercover investigation by the South Central Kentucky Drug Task Force.

Agents of the task force set up a buy to purchase methamphetamine from Bixby, who they made contact with next to a mailbox at the above address. When methamphetamine was found inside the mailbox, Bixby was detained.

According to the task force, two witnesses were in the driveway of the address stating they were there to buy a vehicle. While agents were at the address the vehicle for sale was observed driving by the residence but failed to stop. Authorities then stopped the vehicle which had an expired registration and no insurance.

Haley, a passenger in the vehicle, threw methamphetamine out of the vehicle, which was found in a nearby yard.

The homeowner of 65 Tamera Road was also inside the vehicle and gave agents consent to search a camper on the property, where Ballard was located inside the refrigerator hiding. Ballard has two active felony warrants out of Logan County Circuit Court. While in the camper, agents located methamphetamine and various items of drug paraphernalia.

All three individuals are lodged in the Logan County Detention Center.

Bixby is being charged with trafficking in a controlled substance first degree (methamphetamine), possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Ballard is being charged with possession of a controlled substance first degree (methamphetamine), possession of drug paraphernalia and served two felony warrants.

Haley is being charged with possession of a controlled substance first degree, possession of drug paraphernalia and tampering with physical evidence.
