On Friday September 11, football returned to Kentucky.

The 2020 season had been delayed due to Covid-19. The Logan County Cougars hosted the Russellville Panthers to open the much anticipated season. The mandated 50% crowd witnessed a 29-7 victory from the Cougars.

Braxton Baptiste has taken over the role of quarterback for Logan County Coach Todd Adler for the new season. Baptiste completed ten passes for 155 yards and two touchdowns.

Jackson Hampton took snaps for Russellville in the absence of Lennon Ries.

Russellville struck first on a Lamarcus Hickman 28-yard pick-six in the 1st quarter. Dustin Brown tacked on the extra point to make it 7-0 early.

Logan County settled in and scored on two touchdown passes and two more on the ground. The final was 29-7.

Wyatt Blake and Aaron Hinton caught the two touchdowns from Baptiste. Davin Yates and Braxton Baptiste each ran for six points.

Russellville will host Franklin-Simpson for Senior night on Friday. The Cougars travel to Greenwood for a meeting with the Gators.
