An Alvaton man lost his life Thursday, Sept. 5 in Auburn due to an accident that occurred on U.S. 68-80 at approximately 3:13 p.m.

According to the Logan County Sheriff's Department, Xavier Posey, 21, of Russellville was making a left-hand turn onto U.S. 68-80 from the West Auburn Exit turning into the path of William Moody, 70, who was riding a motorcycle. Moody struck the door of Posey's vehicle and was thrown from his motorcycle.

Moody was transported to the Bowling Green Medical Center where he passed away. Posey sustained non-life threatening injuries and refused EMS transport. Shannon Bryant, a 20-year-old passenger in the Posey vehicle, was not injured.

The investigation is being led by Captain Clint Wright. Assisting the sheriff's department was the Auburn Police Department, Auburn Volunteer Fire Department, and Logan County EMS.
