Edna Wengerd Schlabach, 88, of Guthrie, died Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013, at her home.

She was born in Holmes County, Ohio on Aug. 27, 1924, a daughter of the late Emanuel and Mary Swartzentruber Wengerd. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Schlabach was preceded in death by her brothers, Melbin and Henry Wengerd; her sister, Verna Wengerd; one granddaughter, and one great-granddaughter.

Mrs. Schlabach was a homemaker and a member of the South District Amish Church.

Funeral services were held Sunday, March 3 at 10 a.m. at the South District Amish Church in Guthrie with Bishop Marvin Kanagy officiating. Burial followed in the South District Amish Church Cemetery. Visitation began at the church Friday, March 1 from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday, March 2 from 2-4 p.m. and from 6-8 p.m. Latham Funeral Home in Elkton was in charge of the arrangements.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Ervin J. Schlabach; her sons, Alvin (Irene) Schlabach of Dade City, Fla., Robert (Shirley) Schlabach of Crofton and Wayne (Linda) Schlabach of Auburn; her daughters, Mary (Joni) Miller of Franklin, Ruth Schlabach of Guthrie and Verna (Vernon) Hochstetler and Wilma (Eli) Hostetler, both of Auburn; her sisters, Clara Weaver of Apple Creek, Ohio, Elizabeth Weaver of Dover, Ohio, Ada Wengered of Bradenton, Fla. and Nettie Beachy of Sugar Creek, Ohio; 32 grandchildren, and 26 great-grandchildren.
