Russell S. Roberts, 97, of Auburn, and a native of Russellville, died Friday, December 21, 2012, at Logan Memorial Hospital.

Russell was the son of the late John William Roberts, Sr and Jennie Gustava Proctor-Roberts. He was preceded in death by his wife the late Eva Mae Beason Roberts, his brothers, John Roberts, Marvin Roberts and Timothy Roberts; his sisters, Phyllis Roberts, Tresslyn Roberts, Monica Roberts, and Constance Roberts.

Russell was employed by Auburn Scott Mills. He was a member of Bank Street A.M.E. Church of Russellville. Russell enjoyed Baseball . He served in the Army of the United States.

Memorial services were at noon Thursday, December 27, 2012 at Burnam & Son Mortuary, Inc., in Bowling Green.

He is survived by his daughter, Marilyn R. Roberts, and her husband William Goodman of Auburn; sister, Naomi Haynes, of Chicago and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
