W.L. ‘Bill” Miller, 86, of Adairville, died Tuesday, December 18, 2012 ,at NorthCrest Medical Center.

Mr. Miller was born on February 28, 1926, in Harrison County. He was a member of the Whippoorwill Baptist Church, where he served as deacon. Mr. Miller was a veteran of the United States Army and was a small business owner.

He is preceded in death by his foster parents Clarence “Doc” and Effie Carter Traughber, His wife Roberta Hardin Miller, and an infant son; Lester Wayne Miller.

Funeral Services were conducted Thursday, December 20, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the Whippoorwill Baptist Church in Schochoh with Brother Tom Lawhon, Brother Bill Cowan, and Brother Chuck Cato officiating. Interment followed in the Greenwood Cemetery in Adariville with Barry Wright, Ken Cowan, Mitchell Hardin, A.C. Robey, Jeff Davenport, Robert Davenport, and Jason Stratton serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were the Whippoorwill Baptist Church Deacons.

Mr. Miller is survived by his son W.L. “Bill” Miller, JR. of Springfield, Tenn., his daughter Belinda Rodgers of Adairville, his sister Doris Owens of Missouri, His Grandchildren Matthew Rodgers of Adairville, Rebecca Givens of Adairville and Amy Palmer of Holly Springs, N.C., and great grandchildren Chase, Chandler, Peyton, Kasyn, and Landyn.

The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Whippoorwill Baptist Church. Dean Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements
