Granville Louie Moore, 88, of Lewisburg, died Saturday, May 19, 2012, at the Maple Manor Health Care Center in Greenville.

He was born in Butler County Aug. 10, 1923, a son of the late Granville Moore and the late Vara Moore. In addition to his parents, Mr. Moore was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Jean Moore; his sisters, Mary Virginia Crafton, Hazel Moore and Ida Felts; his brother, J.D. Moore, and his daughter, Jeannie Diane Moore.

Mr. Moore was a farmer and worked for federal crop insurance. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during World War II. He was a member of Quality Church of Christ.

Funeral services were held Monday, May 21 at 11 a.m. in the Price Funeral Home with Mark Page officiating. Burial followed in the Quality Church of Christ Cemetery. Visitation began Sunday, May 20 from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

he is survived by his son, David Moore and wife Beth of Greenville; his daughter, Lee Ann Owens and husband Charlie of Bowling Green; his grandchildren, Sara Waldo and Josh Owens both of Bowling Green and Emily Moore of Greenville, and two great-grandchildren.
