Suspects sought in vehicle thefts

On Sunday, September 26, the Logan County Sheriff’s Department responded to an attempted vehicle theft on Proctor Mill Road at around 4:45 a.m. The residents advised that two while males pulled up in a truck and got into a vehicle in the driveway and attempted to steal it. The residents confronted the men and the fled from the scene. Located at the scene was a 2002 Chevy pickup that had been stolen from a residence in Elkton around 3 a.m. that morning. In the bed of the truck was a 1993 Suzuki motorcycle that had been stolen from a residence on Plainview Church Road in Logan County.

The stolen vehicles were recovered and the owners contacted. If you have any information about these incidents, please call the Logan County Sheriff’s Department at 726-2244 or 726-4911.

On Saturday, September 25, the Russellville Police Department responded to a burglary on East Fourth Street. According to the police report, Michael Satawake had made forced entry into the residence belonging to an elderly female. Satawake was confronted by a witness after the incident and a fight ensued. Officers arrested Satawake as he stood with an open lock blade knife in his right hand near East Second Street at South Franklin. He was charged with burglary 2nd degree and was later charged with felony thefts in reference to another case regarding stolen gaming equipment and other items.
