The City of Russellville will soon be replacing an eight inch water line located on Main Street between Fourth and Fifth Streets as part of the downtown revitalization project.

This line had ruptured a few years ago and required the road to be cut and dug up to repair.

Mayor Gene Zick said the replacement will begin in the evening hours after 5 p.m. There will be no parking allowed in that area and he is asking for cooperation from the public during this time.

As soon as the replacement is complete, Zick said he is going to begin the repaving process around the square.

The square has been cut in a few places to make way for electric lines to be buried which will eventually be used to place lighting around the square.

The cuts were filled with gravel that had to settle before paving could begin.
