He was born in Logan County Dec. 30, 1935, a son of the late Buford Kennedy and the late Willie Ethel Kennedy. In addition to his parents, Mr. Kennedy was preceded in death by his sons, “Bubba” Joe Glenn Kennedy Jr., Charles Allen Kennedy and one infant son.
Mr. Kennedy was a farmer, a member of the Kedron Church of Christ and was an active member of the “Good Old Boys” at Grannys Kitchen.
Funeral services were held Sunday, June 13 at the Kedron Church of Christ with Don White officiating. A fellowship meal was held following the service at Crittenden Church of Christ. Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, Lelia Belle White Kennedy; his sons, Donnie Kennedy, Mike Kennedy and wife Emily and Brian Kennedy and wife Judy, all of Russellville, Sammy Haines of Phoenix City, Ala. and Johnny Tucker of Elkton; his daughters, Debbie Taylor and husband John and Marilyn Crowder and husband Joe, all of Elkton, Linda Powell and husband Marty, Lynne Hartford and husband Mike and Paula Haines, all of Russellville, Debbie Adcock of Evansville, Ind. and Tina Haines of Bakersville, N.C.; his brothers, Paul Kennedy of Russellville and Bill Kennedy of Dot; his sister, Helen Ipox of Mississippi; 33 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
The family asks that expressions of sympathy be made in the form of donations to the family to help with expense.
