Alva Earl Harper, 94, of Lewisburg, died Sunday, Jan. 31, 2010 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green.

He was born in Butler County Oct. 11, 1915, a son of the late Frank and Ollie Stearsman Harper. In addition to his parents, Mr. Harper was preceded in death by his wife, Omie Belle Lack Harper and his son, Gary Wayne Harper.

Mr. Harper was a farmer, a World War II Army veteran and a Baptist by faith.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Feb. 3 at Young Funeral Home Russellville Chapel with Brother David Morgan and Brother Mike Humble officiating. Burial followed in the Marshal Cemetery.

Pallbearers were, Jodie Barnes, Donnie Gregory,. Dustin Uhles, Bobby Dale Forgy, Joe Grise and J.D. Shelton.

He is survived by his sons, Wesley Earl Harper, Alvin Dale Harper and Clifford Ray Harper, all of Lewisburg; his daughter, Rebecca Ann Ewing of Russellville; 12 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
