He was born in Logan County on March 24, 1921 to the late George Dennis and Lydia Green Arnold. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Addie Lou Arnold; brother, James Milton Arnold; sister, Mary Bratcher and son-in-law, Danny Mayes.
Mr. Arnold was a World War II Army Air Force veteran, former manager of Logan Telephone Coop, the oldest member of the Auburn Masonic Lodge No. 374, Rizpah Shriner, former director of the Logan Todd Regional Water Commission, former board member of the Auburn Banking Company, retired firefighter with the city of Adairville, a former mayor of Adairville and a long-time member of Adairville Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010 at the Adairville Baptist Church with Bro. Mark Bond, Bro. Tom Lawhon and Bro. Carl Freudenthal officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Young Funeral Home Russellville Chapel on Tuesday after 5 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the funeral hour.
Pallbearers will be Brent Holman, Pat Baker, John Mason Barnes, Jerry Kirtley, Jim Trimble and Danny Finch.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Adairville Fire Department and the directors, employees and retirees of the Auburn Banking Company, Logan Telephone Coop and the Logan Todd Regional Water Commission.
Mr. Arnold is survived by his daughter, Patty Mayes of Adairville; his brother, Maurice Arnold and wife Mildred of Lewisburg and several nieces and nephews.
The family asks that donations be made to the Adairville Baptist Church.
