Lady Panthers knocked out of All ‘A’ Classic

The Russellville High School girls basketball team was eliminated from the Fourth Region All “A” Classic on Wednesday.

The Lady Panthers hosted the semifinals of the tournament and lost 65-50 to Glasgow.

It was Russellville’s third loss in a row after defeating Logan County on Jan. 11.

In the other semifinal game, Monroe County beat Todd County Central 54-36.

Monroe County and Glasgow will play tonight in the All “A” regional finals.

That game will be at RHS if the Panthers are playing in the boys’ championship.

The Russellville boys hosted Glasgow on Thursday night in a game that ended past press time. In Thursday’s other semifinal game, Clinton County took on Metcalfe County.

Tonight’s All “A” Classic championship doubleheader will begin at 6 p.m. with the girls’ game.

The boys’ title match will begin at approximately 8 p.m.

The Logan County boys’ and girls’ basketball teams both had a tough night Tuesday at Allen County-Scottsville.

The Lady Cougars lost 79-75 to fall to 12-7 on the year.

The Cougars lost 62-47 and are now just one game under .500 at 9-10.

Both teams will be back in action tonight at home against Franklin-Simpson in a District 13 doubleheader beginning at 6 p.m.
