Lady Panthers get district victory; Lady Cougars take home tourney

The Russellville High School volleyball team beat Todd County Central 2-1 (18-21, 21-18, 15-12) on Thursday for the team’s first District 11 win of the season.

It was just the second victory of the season for the Lady Panthers, who played over the weekend in the Fourth Region All ‘A’ Classic volleyball tournament.

Russellville went 0-3 in the event, falling to host Clinton County, Monroe County and Glasgow.

Russellville will be back in action tonight at Logan County in another District 11 match.

wins tournament

The Lady Cougars won their home tournament – the Lady Cougar Challenge – over the weekend.

Logan County lost matches to Franklin (Tenn.) and Warren East, but beat LaRue County in the championship match 2-0 (25-20, 25-14) to win the title.

Logan County also notched victories over Grayson County, Warren Central and got revenge against Franklin in the tournament. Logan County is currently 9-7 on the year and 2-0 in District 11. The Lady Cougars host Russellville tonight.
