Layton E. Wilson, 73, of the Stringtown community died Friday, April 10, 2009 at the Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville.

Mr. Wilson was born Aug. 17, 1935 in Todd County, a son of the late Robert Earl and Tina (Tiny) Case Wilson. He was a retired truck driver and was employed with Todd County as the waste convenience center in North Todd. He was a member of Stokes Chapel Church.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by his brothers, James Wilson.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 15 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of the Todd County Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Chapman and Rev. Thomas Byler officiating. Burial followed in the Stokes Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife, Johneese Wilson of the Stringtown Community; his daughter, Karen Petrie of Elkton; his sons, Terry Wilson of Edgefield, S.C., Keith Wilson and Michael Wilson, both of Elkton, and Barry Wilson of Phoenix, Ariz.; his brothers, Oscar Wilson of Tipton, Iowa, and Steve Wilson of Armstrong, British Columbia; his sisters, Rachel Jones of Eastlake, Ohio, and Nancy Laster, Kathleen Case, Bess Rager and Mildred Wilson, all of Elkton; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
