Football players impress at Night of Champions

WKU’s football team held its second Night of Champions event Thursday evening at Diddle Arena, in which members of the football team compete in various weight lifting and strength competitions.

Senior offensive lineman Cody Hughes posted the highest weight in the squat (675 pounds), freshman linebacker Diego Lubin had the highest bench press (420 pounds), sophomore defensive lineman Jamarcus Allen totaled the highest weight in the split jerk (335 pounds), junior linebacker Chris Bullard registered the highest total in the power clean (335 pounds), and senior defensive back Jihad Morris posted the highest vertical jump (39.5-inches).

WKU opened its 2009 spring practice schedule on Saturday, March 28 at Houchens Industries - L.T. Smith Stadium.

The highest three finishers in each of the five categories are listed below:

VERTICAL JUMP
