Celia Martin Watkins, 95, of Auburn, died Monday, March 11, 2013, at her home.

She was born in Anthony, N.M. on Aug. 1, 1917, a daughter of the late Albert and Marianna Garcia Martin. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Watkins was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Houston Watkins, and her sisters, Angela, Helen, Bertha, Emma and Frances.

Mrs. Watkins was a Catholic by faith and worked with her husband as a secretary and bookkeeper with Nox Finance Company and on the Farm.

She is survived by her very close friend, Brenda Fuller; her caregivers, Sandra McClish and Carolyn Smith Coleman; her sister, Marion Morales; her brother-in-law, Bill Shultz, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Thursday, March 14 at 11 a.m. in the Young Funeral Home Auburn Chapel with Brother Kenny Chyle officiating. Burial followed in the Auburn Cemetery. Visitation begin at the funeral home Wednesday, March 13 from 5-7 p.m. and Thursday, March 14 from 8 a.m. until time of sevice.

Pallbearers were Matthew Fuller, Steve Ezell, Joe Woodward, Curry Barrow, William Doerr and Joe Medina.

Donations may be made to the Logan County Humane Society, P.O. Box 1001, Russellville, KY 42276 in memory of Celia Watkins.
