Bernice Gipson Crawford, of Indianapolis, Ind., died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013.

She was born on March 20, 1932, a daughter of the late Fonce Gipson and Ariene Bewley Gipson. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Crawford was proceeded in death by her daughter, Paula Jean Crawford; her sister, Lillian Kersey, and her grandchild, Taylor Katherine Goff.

Mrs. Gipson was employed as a secretary with the Indianapolis Baptist Temple, owned and operated Bernice’s Hairstyles in Beach Grove Indiana and also worked at Western Electric for several years.

A memorial service was held Wednesday, Feb. 27 at 2 p.m. at the Cave Springs Baptist Church with Brother Kenny Chyle officiating. Burial will follow at a later date. Young Funeral Home Auburn Chapel was in charge of the arrangements.

She is survived by her husband, Paul Crawford of Indianapolis, Ind.; her daughter, Faith A. Crawford and Daniel J. Goff of Auburn; her brothers, Dan Gipson and Dean Gipson; her sisters, Myrtle Scarbrough, Rosemary Miller, Phyllis Milliner, Paulette Scarbrough and Martha Roberson; her grandchildren, Rachel C. and Kenny Embry of Auburn, and her great- grandsons, AJ Young and Peyton Young.
