At the Russellville Sportsman Club on February 14th the young and young of heart celebrated Valentine’s Day.
Each Thursday the local Senior Citizens group hosts a dance/potluck. February 14th was special. The seniors held their Valentine’s Day dance and had some young guests. Several members of the Russellville Junior High Beta Club attended the dance. The youngsters helped with the set up and take down for the evening.
They even created a photo booth where everyone had their picture made with their Valentine. It was delightful to see the Beta students dance with the adults. For some of the students it was the first time on the dance floor. Even though the dance was an opportunity for the students to offer a service it was evident that more was going on than just offering up their physical help for the evening.
There was partner dancing and even line dancing. It was apparent that the young and young of heart were having a great time dancing, socializing and “bridging the generation gap”.
