The winner of the Logan County Valentine “Sweetheart” contest was Jo Jo Angel, a Pit bull mix, who belongs to Alisa Wheat Starks. The Humane Society held the contest Saturday, Feb. 9 as a fundraiser for the society’s rescue program.

Jo Jo Angel, an older dog, was adopted by Starks from the Logan County Humane Society after she was found neglected, hidden in a yard that had shoulder high grass. She was almost dead when members of the society got to her. She suffered from a disease, but was nursed back to health by Starks.

Jo Jo Angel was among several dogs to show up at the event. She and her owner won a basket full of goodies put together by Humane Society Director Kathy Maddox.

The society wishes to thank all those who came out to support the homeless animals of Logan County. They could not accomplish saving so many lives without the support of the community. The Logan County Humane Society is a stand along entity vying for funds from the community to help save the lives of this county’s homeless animal population. The society is not affiliated with any other rescue group in Logan County.
