Thursday night was the beginning of the Logan County Middle School tournament hosted at the Logan County High School. The Lewisburg Lady Rangers and the Chandlers Lady Bears were in the quarter final game that night, with the Lady Rangers taking the win, moving them on to the semi final game that was on Saturday.

The Lady Rangers took a big leap in the first quarter and gained a 6-2 lead over the Lady Bears. The second quarter was slow for both teams leaving the score to 8-3 at halftime.

The Lady Bears were able to shorten the gap and end the third quarter down 7-11. Both teams fought hard in the fourth quarter and scored several points, but it was the Lady Rangers who pulled through with a 18-15 win.

Amber Carroll was the points leader for the Lady Bears. Lady Bear Alexis Chick finished with two points and Kassidy Justice and Shelby Rigsby ended with one point each.

Meredith Johnson was the points leader for the Lady Rangers, finishing with eight points. Kela Heltsey followed with six points and Karson Inscoe and Maleea Reno both finished with two points each.

The semi final games were held on Saturday. The first game was between the Adairville Lady Cardinals and the Auburn Lady Tigers. Both teams had big scores but the Lady Cardinals walked away with a victory.

The Lady Cardinals had a big first quarter, scoring 15 points compared to the Lady Tiger’s seven points. The teams continued on and ended the first half with the Lady Cardinals still leading 19-10.

In the third quarter, the Lady Cardinals were still able to increase the gap and lead 26-13 going into the final quarter of the game. The Lady Tigers turned it up and scored ten points, but the Lady Cardinals were still going strong and ended the game 31-23.

Lady Tiger Sarah Beth Hale led the Lady Tigers with nine points. Karrah Cron and Macie Hunt followed with four points each. Jillian McLellan, Teanna Gray and Victoria Welsh all finished with two points each.

Lady Cardinal Lauren Batten was the points leader for the Lady Cardinals with eight points. Taylor Ward finished the game with seven, with Ann-Meguiar Bouldin following with six points. Jordan Woodward, Kennedy Nichols and Amanda Crutchfield all finished with three points each.

The Olmstead Lady Rams and the Lewisburg Lady Rangers also played in the semi final games on Saturday. The Olmstead Lady Rams took home the win with a score of 32-15.

The Lady Rams started the game with a big lead of 11-2 and they continued to outscore the Lady Rangers throughout the first half. The Lady Rams were able to finish with a 20-5 lead going into the second half.

The Lady Rangers had a big third quarter, scoring seven points to put them closer to the Lady Rams, ending the third quarter down 12-26.The Lady Rams continued to play hard and walked away with a 32-15 win over the Lady Rangers.

Karson Inscoe led the Lady Rangers with nine points. Madison Collins finished with three points, Maleea Reno finished with two points, and Meredith Johnson finished with one point.

The Lady Rams had two points leaders, LeeAnn Coots and Logan Williamson both had eight points. Kathryn Smith finished with seven points and Abi Lindsey finished with four points. Madison Stratton and Shannon Bryant both had two points.

Tonight will the Logan County Middle School championship game between the Lady Cardinals and the Olmstead Lady Rams. The game will start at 6:30 at Logan County High School.
